Luxury Living

A Grade A listed country house with seven bedrooms all with a distinctive contemporary feel, where history and heritage are subtly married, creating an unstuffy atmosphere of luxurious elegance.

Historic Charm

Kennox is a 17th century baronial mansion house in the heart of Robert Burns Country, yet with very easy access to Glasgow. Kennox is truly magical, it’s one of the very few Grade A listed houses in Ayrshire. Steeped in history, the ancestral home of the Macalister Clan, it was built by the Earl of Sommerville in 1690’s with later Regency additions.

The Outdoors

Outdoors, there are 20 acres of grounds for fun and adventure. We have an outdoor all-weather tennis court, kids adventure playground with slide and swings, acres and acres of space for hide & seek and walking the dogs who will adore our woodland walk. And of course nothing says we are on holiday better than a soak in the hot tub, perfectly situated overlooking the river and woodland and just perfect for star gazing or relaxing lazy afternoons. Stroll around the lawns running down to the river, sit and relax by the waterfall or stride out on a bracing woodland walk and then come back and relax around the fire pit. For alfresco dining there is an outdoor BBQ area with lots of seating. Additionally, we have an outdoor table tennis table, croquet, cricket, fishing gear and lots lots more.

The Perfect Retreat

Whatever the reason for visiting Scotland, this historic home stands as a superb example of its type and really has no comparison in the area. Our location is a perfect holiday destination with a wide variety of activities and amenities available for all ages.  Truly a fantastic setting  being just half an hour from Glasgow Airport and 40 mins from Glasgow city centre by car (or under 30 minutes by direct train from Glasgow Central). Kennox is perfectly situated for a terrific family holiday, retreat or business conference.  Catering,  pipers and entertainers can be arranged on request to suit your requirements.
